Researchers Argue the cause of Alzheimer’s disease
Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder associated with brain impairment and many other cognitive problem.
Alzheimer’s disease affects 5.5 million people in the United States and about 1.5million in Nigeria.
Previous hypothesis among researchers concluded that excessive accumulation of a potentially toxic Beta amyloid in the brain causes Alzheimer disease. The experts again argued that the Beta amyloid plaques disrupt the interaction between brain cells leading to brain impairments.
However, new study that erupted from the University of California San Diego school of medicine and the veteran affairs San Diego healthcare system Led by Prof. Bondi stated that ” The research suggests that cognitive changes may be occuring before the signify level of amyloid have accumulated. It seems like we may need to focus on treatment targets of pathologies other than Beta amyloid, such as Tau, which is highly linked to the thinking and memory difficulties that impact people’s life”
